Should I develop for each platform or use a syndication service?

Hi guys,
As you can see the widgets I submitted are not mine. I'm not a developer for the moment. I'm gonna start to creat my own widgets but I need your opionion. Should I start to develop for each platform (for example iGoogle) or is it better to create a widget using tools like clearspring, widgetbox or sproutbuilder in order to have my widget immediately sharable on every platform?
I noticed that sometimes widgets created with these tools doesn't work on certain platforms, in particular on desktop platform.
I wait for your opionion. Thank you. :)
